The only airline that completely services Micronesia is Continental Micronesia.  Nearly all traveling done by missionaries is through Continental Micronesia.  Some missionaries have the opportunity of riding boats to the outer islands of the Chuuk Lagoon
  • Size:
The Micronesia Guam Mission covers a larger area of the globe than any other mission in the world.  It's boundaries cover a whopping 6,000,000 sq. miles.  From the island farthest West, Palau, to the island farthest East, Majuro, There is a span of 3,000 miles.  That is the width of the continental U.S.  However we cover the smallest amount of land as a mission in the world.
  • Church:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints first arrived to Micronesia in 1942 when U.S. marines recovered Guam from Japanese rule.  One of these soldiers was Elder L. Tom Perry who was stationed in Saipan and Tinian.  It wasn't until 36 years later that the first missionaries were sent to Micronesia.  It has now been 22 years since missionaries have been serving in these islands and the work goes forth.
